Capabilities

Injection Mold Design & Fabrication

  • Feasibility studies
  • Design for manufacturability
  • 3D modeling and prototyping
  • Mold manufacturing
  • Start-up support to final mold validation
  • In-house engineering changes
  • Preventative, corrective & predictive maintenance and repairs

Complete integration between tooling, program management and metrology

  • DFMEA informs the tool design, supporting decisions about critical areas to insert and leave steel safe
  • Duplicate metrology fixtures are constructed ahead of the mold completion, allowing for metrology correlation between the tool maker and Formula
    • Steel safe recuts can be performed with confidence at the original tool builder
    • Programs for First Articles (FAI) and Capability (CpK) are written, gauge R&R’s completed before the mold ships
  • End of Arm Tooling (EoAT) is also manufactured ahead of the mold completion and is used for initial sampling, then shipped with the mold
  • When applicable, cavity separation equipment is used for production, saving on labor and providing easier traceability
  • All mold samples are performed with the Formula Tooling Engineer on-site
